Carbon steel end caps can develop cracks in environments such as nitrate, ammonia, and alkaline sodium. Please specify the need to eliminate residual stress when ordering end caps. Austenitic stainless steel may experience stress corrosion cracking in specific chloride environments, so please select appropriate materials in the design. For carbon steel containers that require hot-dip galvanizing or aluminum coating, please perform heat treatment first to remove residual stress.

What are the precautions for using pipe caps?

1. Measure the outer circumference of the pipe cap. If you need to process a cylinder, please inquire with the company about the expected dimensions of the outer circumference.
2. Divide the outer circumference of the pipe cap into 4 equal parts and mark them on the cylinder and the pipe cap.
3. Position welding; the customer should select the positioning points based on the diameter and plate thickness.
4. After the positioning welding is completed, proceed with welding. Pay attention to the protection of the stainless steel head surface. After welding the head to the cylinder, promptly clean the weld seam, slag, spatter, heat-affected zone, and surrounding contaminants, and perform PT inspection and surface pickling.
5. Prevent scratches on the surface of the stainless steel pipe cap.
6. Prevent direct contact with carbon steel to avoid iron ion contamination.
7. Do not store outdoors; protect from rain.
8. Avoid forced welding. The structural design should prevent excessive constraint stress.
9. The chloride ion content of the water used for the hydrostatic test must not exceed 25mg/L, and it should be dried promptly after the test.
10. Stainless steel pickling cannot be used for reducing acids such as hydrochloric acid.
11. Strictly adhere to the medium compatibility specified in the "Capacity Regulations." Note: For stable austenitic stainless steel heads such as 0Cr18Ni9 and 304, improper surface protection can easily lead to surface pitting corrosion. When combined with processing stress and welding stress, it can lead to stress corrosion and intergranular corrosion. Therefore, customers should pay special attention to the surface protection of such stainless steels.
Precautions for using pipe caps:
1. Carbon steel heads may develop cracks in environments with nitrates, ammonia, alkaline sodium, etc. Please specify the elimination of residual stress when ordering heads.
2. Austenitic stainless steel may experience stress corrosion cracking in specific chloride environments; please select appropriate materials in the design.
3. For carbon steel containers that require hot-dip galvanizing or aluminum coating, please perform heat treatment first to remove residual stress.

What types of flanges are used in the petrochemical industry?

In many applications, engineers need to find a way to safely close a chamber or cylinder, often because the composition or pressure of the internal material must be different from that of the external material.

What is the difference between butt welding fittings and socket fittings?

Butt welding connection is to fix the two parts completely after spot welding. Of course, the requirements for welders are also slightly higher, as butt welding needs to undergo 100% RT inspection under strict working conditions.

What aspects should be considered when using stainless steel flanges?

The stainless steel flange is a flange that connects steel pipes, fittings, etc. into the flange and connects to equipment or pipelines through corner welds. The inner hole on one side of the flange is equipped with a welded boss, which has an inner hole. The inner hole is connected to the inner hole at the center of the flange, and there is elasticity between the flange and the welded boss.

What types of flanges do we often use?

The main types of flanges are welding neck, long welding neck, lap joint, threaded, and blind flanges, as well as slip-on, socket weld. In addition to these standard flanges, there are also some special flanges, such as rotating flanges, expansion/reduction flanges, and hole flanges.
