  • Product Details
  • The reducer, also known as a reducing pipe, is a type of fitting used at the point of diameter change in a pipeline. Its two ends have different diameters, allowing pipes of different diameters to connect together, facilitating the smooth transport of fluids in the pipeline system or altering parameters such as flow rate and velocity.

    Classification

Concentric reducer: The centerline of the concentric reducer coincides, meaning the centers of the large and small ends are on the same straight line. This type of reducer is relatively easy to install, and the fluid flows smoothly within it, without generating excessive turbulence and resistance due to diameter changes. It is suitable for situations that require high fluid flow conditions, such as some high-precision chemical production processes.

Eccentric reducer: The centerline of the eccentric reducer does not coincide, and there is a certain offset distance between the centers of the large and small ends. Eccentric reducers are usually used to connect pipes at different heights or horizontal positions, solving issues related to height differences or avoiding other equipment and pipes during installation. In drainage systems, eccentric reducers are often used to prevent water accumulation at the bottom of the pipes, keeping the bottom of the pipes level.

    Material

Carbon steel: It has good strength and toughness, able to withstand high pressure, suitable for general industrial pipelines and some ordinary water supply and drainage systems. Carbon steel reducers are relatively low in cost, and the manufacturing process is mature, making it a widely used material.

Stainless steel: Stainless steel reducers have excellent corrosion resistance, able to resist the erosion of corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts, suitable for industries such as chemicals, food, and pharmaceuticals that require high corrosion resistance for pipeline materials. Common stainless steel materials include 304, 316, etc., among which 316 stainless steel has stronger corrosion resistance and can be used in harsher corrosive environments.

Alloy steel: Alloy steel reducers have higher strength and high-temperature resistance, able to operate stably under harsh conditions such as high temperature and high pressure, commonly used in high-temperature and high-pressure pipeline systems in the petroleum, chemical, and electric power industries.

    Specifications

The specifications of reducers are usually expressed as large end diameter × small end diameter × length, for example, DN100×DN80×150, indicating that the nominal diameter of the large end is 100mm, the nominal diameter of the small end is 80mm, and the length is 150mm. Common nominal diameters include DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80, DN100, DN125, DN150, DN200, etc., to meet the connection needs of different pipeline systems.

    Application scenarios

Industrial pipeline systems: In the industrial fields of petroleum, chemicals, electric power, metallurgy, etc., various pipelines of different diameters need to connect with each other to transport different media, such as crude oil, natural gas, steam, water, etc. Reducers, as key fittings for diameter changes in pipelines, can ensure the normal operation of the pipeline system and meet the requirements for flow rate, pressure, and other parameters in different process links.

Building water supply and drainage systems: In the water supply and drainage pipes within buildings, reducers also have wide applications. For example, when connecting the main water supply pipe with branch pipes, reducers are often needed to achieve a transition in diameter, ensuring that each water point can obtain an appropriate amount of water and water pressure.
